English for hotel supervisory & managerial communication

The aims of the course
English for Hotel Supervisory and Managerial Communication is a text book designed for hotel supervisory and managerial level communication such as supervisors, secretaries, assistant managers, and managers of hotel departments and upper semester or post intermediate to advance level of tourism students majoring in hotel administration, accommodation, food and beverage services to acquire greater fluency both in writing and speaking.
    This book, which requires about 60 contact hours (40 sessions x 90 minutes) aims:
a.    to practice and improve ability in writing hotel correspondence,
b.    to improve learners&rsquo oral fluency in communication,
c.    to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding required by hotel employees or trainees to become professional supervisors, secretaries, assistant managers, and managers of hotels.

The objectives of  the course are
a.    to enable  learners to answer letters of inquiry to reconfirm reservations, to write letters of apology to answer letters about missing items to write letters dealing with recruitment, employment, warning and termination, reminders of outstanding account, congratulations and appreciation, references, recommendations, and testimonials to write memos, invitations, banqueting proposals and agreements to design advertisements,  hotel questionnaire, hotel brochures and to write monthly reports, etc.
b.    to guide learners to practice conducting a job interview, delivering speeches, running a meeting, giving a briefing, organizing a presentation, etc.
